Stiga Park Ride-On Mower with "Hatz" Engine. We use the Swedish made Stiga for all areas of grass over 10mm at the golf course. It's controls are mostly electronic, which makes it easier to use but also means that there is more to go wrong! Of course, the best thing about the mower is that it is a Diesel, which means we can run it on red diesel. In the UK "red diesel" is half the price of normal stuff, I may make a vid explaining the differences in the future. Enjoy the review and SUBSCRIBE for more Diesel and Petrol powered ACTION! I just bought a Troy Built ride mower and was told by someone that during the winter storage I should remove the Cutting Deck from the mower. I have never had a ride mower before and I never heard this before. I read into removal of the deck and it appears to be a lot of work to get off and back on. Why does the cutting deck need to be removed for storage?
A I don't see a reason to have to take the deck off for the winter. I'd say just make sure all of the grass is cleaned out from under the deck before you store it away because that will help the deck last longer and drain the gas tank and crank the engine once with out gas so that the carborator doesn't get gunked up over the winter.
i have a small yard and cut it now with a push mower, but this summer my brother and i are going to invest in a ride mower and cut a large amount of small single family home yards... the yards can have hills and tight turns... what is the best type or model mower for this job...? thanks
A I will tell you this. You most defiantly get what you pay for. I would suggest a Simplicity Regent or a Snapper LT200. 12" turning radius, a 38"-50" deck, plus a 2 year warranty. These machines are priced from $1999, but will be more machine than you need. Plus you get a dealer to help you and to service the machine when needed. Go to http://www.simplicitymfg.com or http://www.snapper.com to find a dealer close to you.
